Simon has come to Offsetters with a background in both the financial markets and the carbon market. After graduating from McGill University with a degree in Finance and International Business, and gaining his Derivatives Management Specialist Designation from the Canadian Securities Institute, Simon departed to London England to begin his trading career.

Six years later Simon had traded for a number of top trading houses in London and in Sydney Australia, and had also secured his FSA and Eurex Traders Certifications. Since then Simon has pursued postgraduate study at the University of Sydney where he examined the impacts of the Clean Development Mechanism on the efficiency of the European Emissions Trading Scheme.

Further to his studies in Sydney, Simon was a delegate at the Point Carbon Market Insights Conference in Copenhagen. He has also consulted to a Canadian investor syndicate on carbon credit origination, and served as a strategy consultant to a number of Australian businesses.
