What's New With Offsetters

  • Vancouver, July 6, 2010 -- Offsetters' President, James Tansey was announced as a Pacific finalist in the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2010 Awards. Entrepreneur Of The Year recognizes high-achieving entrepreneurs in Canada and around the world who drive growth, transform industries and build communities. The Canadian program is in its 17th year of honouring the country’s most impressive entrepreneurs from all areas of business.

The names of the Pacific winners will be announced at a gala banquet in Vancouver on September 28.

  • Beginning July 1, 2010 we will apply the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) in place of the GST as announced in the 2009 British Columbia provincial budget. Offsets and services delivered to you before July 1, 2010 will not be impacted. The HST change only applies to new services and offsets delivered on and after July 1, 2010.

The HST rate will depend on your location: for our BC-based clients, the HST rate is 12%; for our Ontario clients, the HST rate is 13%. Everywhere else, tax rates on offsets and services you purchase will remain the same as before.

  • We're proud to announce our newest partner - M&R Environmental!

They've been leaders in the recycling of waste oil and the distribution of environment-friendly substitutes for years, and becoming carbon neutral is just one of the many 'green' initiatives they've undertaken.

We worked with them to measure their carbon footprint, create plans for reductions, and to offset what they cannot reduce.

    Congratulations M&R!
