What's New With Offsetters

  • We've just started twittering on the social-networking site 'twitter'. Our 'tweet's will have updates about our projects, links to news articles that we like, and any other interesting factoids we stumble across. You can find us by searching 'offsetters' at twitter.com.
  • Chris is our expert on standards and regulations in the voluntary carbon market, and he gives a great overview of British Columbia's position on climate change as a guest blogger at changeeverything.ca
  • Working in conjunction with Volkswagen, Offsetters is pleased to participate in a new challenge: drive from Calgary to Vancouver on a single tank of diesel, blended with 5% biodiesel. Starting early in the morning on 7th April, four drivers including Offsetters President, James Tansey, will steer two Jetta TDI vehicles through the Rockies arriving in time for the start of the Canucks-Flames game in Vancouver. While the vehicles are among the most efficient in North America, Offsetters will offset the balance of the emissions resulting from the journey.

  • We’re proud to announce that we’ll be working with the BMO Vancouver Marathon to lower the emissions of this huge, successful and fun event! As a world class event, the marathon will have participants travelling from all over the world to race, and Offsetters and the BMO Marathon will be offsetting their travel emissions.
  • Morgan, Paul and Chris will be guest blogging on ChangeEverything.ca, a community where people work towards (and blog about) making positive changes in everything from the environment to their cooking skills. Morgan, our director of sourcing, kicked off the three part series on climate change, in 'Confessions of an Offset Skeptic'.
  • We are delighted to announce that it is even easier for you to make your Westjet travel plans climate friendly! By partnering with Offsetters, WestJet has taken a lead in the aviation industry’s efforts toward addressing climate change.

  • Last week Offsetters became the first Canadian company to be registered with an active Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS) registry. This is an important achievement for the Offsetters team because it helps provide assurance to our clients that our carbon offset projects are real, authentic and transparent.
